The Seventh session of "Baili Danxia" Mountaineering Race in the Mount Feitianshan 2018: Materials for the ITRA Points Application I Race Introduction The “Bali Danxia” Mountaineering race in Mount Feitianshan and the Tent Event have been successfully held for six sessions since 2012. With the ever growing scale of the event, it has ranked among the most influential mountain sports events in Hunan Province, achieving the comprehensive radiation in one municipality in Beijing, one special administrative region in Hongkong and six provinces including Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Jiangxi and Sichuan, and part radiation in Chongqing Municipality, Fujian, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. Therefore, the popularity, reputation and influence of the Mount Feitianshan has been improved, moreover, the creation of the mass sports event polishes the business card of the national famous outdoor sports base in Mount Feitianshan, which promotes the integration and development of sports, culture and tourism. Feitianshan Scenic Area is composed of scenic spots such as nine stockade villages, four Tans, three temples, two rivers, one hot spring and one ancient town, covering an area of 68.004 square kilometers. It is a mountain type scenic spot integrating the natural landscape, local customs, religious with cultures. The magical Danxia landforms and the uncanny craftsmanship of nature are displayed here; the grotesque stones are everywhere, and dark-green mountains meet with each other; alpine meadows seem to be the beauty lies here forever; with the implication of longevity and the land of Buddha, it is regarded as the source of life; there are ancient lanes and streets with ancient towering trees; and there are also long gorges and the successive bamboo; with crystal clear river, streams of boats busily coming and going, which contributes to a picturesque scenery. “Along the river are mountains with rock cliffs,” Xu Xiake, the great traveler of Ming Dynasty, once said, “Every inch counts for magnificence”. Mount Feitianshan National Geopark (terminal point) The track covers 58.44 km in total, including 15-km hardened pavement and 43.44-km mixed pavement like bank, dirt road, and rocky road. The highest altitude is 243 m while the lowest altitude is 113 m, with the cumulative climbing height of 2,836 m. Site Settings: 1.Starting point: from (the Mount Feitianshan National Geopark) to the CP1 (Mahuang Qiu) The track covers 5.25 km, ascending 20 m while descending 19 m. The highway will appear after the departure of 2.4 km, and there is the cycle trail that is comfortable to run. After running for 2.4 km, you will pass the Mount Feitianshan Bridge into the Yajiangcun and then to Wnagjiaping, which is a 2.6-km bank and tractor road. After that, the 760-m asphalt highway will bring you to the CP1 (Mahuang Qiu). 2.CP1 (Mahuang Qiu) to the CP2 (Shenxian Village) The track covers 5.25 km, with the ascending and descending heights of 297 m and 120m respectively. Mountain climbing starts at the CP1 (Mahuang Qiu) with about 2.5-km flagging road and dirt road to Zhaibei. The terrain in Mahuang Qiu is steep and dangerous, please pay attention to control your pace. Going downhill reaches Zhaibei, and there is a 1.7-km cement road to Gaoping. During Gaoping and Shenxian Village is an 80-degree steep slope with 110-m ascending. The check point of the CP2 (Shenxian Village) is in a small cave which passes through the mountain and offers a bird’s eye view of the Mount Feitianshan panorama. 3.CP2 (Shenxian Village) to the CP3/SP1 (Egong Village) The track covers 8.39 km, with ascending and descending heights of 419 m and 350 m respectively, which is the most difficult stage. Going down from the CP2 (Shenxian Village) to Wayao Ping is a bold cliff, please pay attention to control. After running for 1.1-km cement road, you will get to Qiaoxinchen, and then there are mountains. There is a 2.3-km extremely narrow gorge, most of which is just wide enough for one person to get through, and it is difficult to overtake others. Once passing the gorge, you will experience a 100-m jungle climbing, get through two caves with 100-m descending, and run for 500-m bank, then you will reach the most beautiful highway in Chenzhou, the strategic highway for Mount Feitianshan tourism. You will arrive at the CP3/SP1 (Egong Village) after running for 2.5-km strategic highway. 4.CP3/SP1 (Egong Village) to the CP4/SP2 Eagle Camp The track covers 7.67 km, with the ascending and descending heights of 494 m and 468 m respectively. In this stage, you will come across the Gaoyi Ridge which is a scenic spot of web celebrity. Departing from the CP3/SP1 (Egong Village) is a 70-m light plate steep slope where most of you have to walk slowly. After that, it is basically the light stone board and dirt road to the CP4/SP2 Eagle Camp. When descending to the CP4/SP2 Eagle Camp for 70 m, you can hold the railing down slowly. 5.CP4/SP2 Eagle Camp to the CP5 (Wangjiaao) The track covers 9.01 km, with ascending and descending heights of 746 m and 783 m respectively. In this track, it is mainly the bank and dirt road, and there is a part of cement road when passing the Hunagnitan Bridge. Most of the time will be spent in the valley, and there even comes the view of a thread of sky. 6.CP5 (Wangjiaao) to SP3 (canal) The track covers 4.01 km, with ascending and descending heights of 103 m and 90 m respectively. This stage is mainly focused on the ridge of Maowang Village, with bank, dirt road, and jungle involved. In the SP3 (canal), hot food is provided, and it is also the last hot food point before dark. Thus, if you run slowly before, then you need to accelerate. 7.SP3 (canal) to the CP6 (Yujia Village) The track covers 8.16 km, with the ascending and descending heights of 157 m and 143 m respectively. There is a 4-km cement road along the bamboo forest from the SP3 (canal) to Yapo Hill. This stage provides a good chance to accelerate and even to overtake but it is an upslope. During Yapo Hill to the CP5 (Yujia Village) is bank, dirt road, and jungle, and the CP5 (Yujia Village) is under a large natural stone door. 8.CP6 (Yujia Village) to the terminal point The track covers 10.7 km, with the ascending and descending heights of 455 m and 503 m respectively. The road condition in this stage is mainly the bank, dirt road and jungle, and a part of cement road beside the Liangjiang Bridge. Runners with lower speed should prepare headlight in advance and watch out for getting lost in the jungle. After passing the liangjiang Bridge is close to the scenic spot, or the terminal point. Timing chips will be provided for free during the race, and should not be taken off. If it were damaged or lost, the wearer’s competition results would be cancelled. 2. During the race there are several timing checkpoints, all participants should actively cooperated with the referees to check time without leaving out any checkpoints, or the results will be invalid. The closing time will be set at supply points, and participants arrive late than the time must stop the race who can take the car of the organizing committee to the terminal point. If the participant obstinately refused to stop the race, his or her competition qualification will be cancelled by the committee. 3. There are two number clothes that one is put on the front of the suit and the other is for entry package access. The number cloth should be clearly shown to referees and staff members during the race, or the wearer will be punished for breaking the rule. 4. Supply points are set during the race. Participants should prepare for themselves except for supplies provided by the organizing committee. All participants should not be provided or accept supplies out of the supply points, but drinks and food purchased in stores and restaurants along the track are not subject to the limits. 5. Strict inspection of environmental protection is set in this race. All participants are forbidden to take any disposable drinking appliance and disposable tableware to the race track, including plastic bags for drinking water and drinks, plastic bottles or beverage cans and so on. Participants should cooperate with the organizing committee for the inspection, if participants took such materials mentioned above, they must leave them in the supply points and make sure their mandatory equipment is intact, then participants can get into the track and continue the race. Otherwise, the organizing committee will force the participants to terminate the race, mark their number cloth with withdrawal and reclaim the timing chips. Participants can rest, take food or supplement drinking water and food at supply points, but drinking ware should be prepared by themselves. 6. Participants should not litter on the track, but take the rubbish to the next supply point. Or the organizing committee will force the participant to terminate the race, mark their number cloth with withdrawal and reclaim the timing chips. Please supervise and kindly remind each other during the race. 7. Participants arrive late than the closing time at every supply point should quit the race initiatively, and those participants whose health inspected by doctors is not fit for continuing the race should also quit the race. Those who refuse to quit do not enjoy the supplies and security of the event and are prohibited from participating in other competitions organized by the organization of the event. Those who request quit for personal reasons must submit it to the referee at the nearest check/supply point. All participants who quit the race will be sent back to the terminal point by staff members after filling out the withdrawal form. 8. All participants must proceed in accordance with the signs on the track. Cutting corners and external support is severely prohibited, or the competition qualification will be cancelled. 9. When participants claim the number cloth and timing chips, the referee will check the mandatory equipment, if the equipment were unqualified, the organizing committee has the right to cancel the competition qualification of the participants. When participants enter the track, he or she must pass the mandatory equipment inspection. If the participant lacked the mandatory equipment, the organizing committee will force him or her to terminate the race. During the race, all participants must carry all mandatory equipment required by the organizing committee. If checked out lacking mandatory equipment by the staff at checkpoints, the participants would be forced to terminate the race by the organizing committee, with number clothes marked for withdrawal and timing chips reclaimed. 11. Participants must obey the outdoor sports guidelines of “Leave No Trace”. 12. Participants will be punished with time penalties, or with competition qualification canceled for breaking the rules mentioned above, but the right and way for punishment is decided by the organizing committee without appeal. 13. The registration qualification is not transferable. 14. The final route track will be published one week before the race, thus, please install the navigation software to ensure the safety of the event. It is recommended to download and use the outdoor assistant on apple and android phone 15. If the race were unable to continue as scheduled because of the force majeure factor, the hosts have the right to change routes or time who have the right of final explanation of the event. 16. Anyone who disagrees with the results of the competition, the referee's ruling, and the qualifications of the participants and submits a complaint must submit a written appeal report and a 500-yuan appeal fee to the Arbitration Committee of the Organizing Committee for acceptance. If the case is won, 500 yuan will be returned in full. Unfinished matters will be further noticed, and the interpretation of this procedure belongs to the competition organizing committee. V Competition Results and Incentives (1) Competition Results 1. The closing time of 60-km Group (Elite Group) and 30-km Group (Challenge Group) is 15 and 8 hours respectively, which is based on the time of the gunshot. In addition, the section closing time will be set, and there will be supply points, rest stations, rescue medical stations, public inspection stations and a non-public inspection stations along the road. 2. The sensor timing machine will be adopted in the race, and the organizing committee provides induction time keeping services for all players participating in the mountain off-road group. The induction timing chip will start timing when participants pass the starting point, and have an inductive timing belt at the starting point, each inspection point and the end point. In the process of running, the participants must pass all the ground sensing timing belts of each project. Completing the race within the closing time but missing any of the timing points will not be ranked. Participants who exceed the competition time are not valid. (2) Incentives 1. Mountaineering Group: according to the net score, the athlete with a short time wins. The top 10 in men’s group and top 10 in women’s group will be picked out in both 60-km Group (Elite Group) and the 30-km Group (Challenge Group). The total prize (material) is 37,000 yuan. The winners will be awarded medals, prizes, certificates, and bonuses. If there are complaints, the results of all award-winning athletes will be distributed 24 hours after the official website of the event announced, and the bonus will not be awarded until the disputes confirmed. Participants are required to be no younger than 18 years old, but no elder than 60 years old (with 18 and 60 included, the age judgment is based on the competition day); 2. In the course of the event, the personal injury caused by personal physical reasons, the responsibility and economic losses shall be borne by the person, and the letter of responsibility shall be signed; 5. Participants of 60-km group (Elite Group) are required to complete an over 30-km mountaineering running or a full marathon in the past 2 years (invalid online results), and participants of 30-km group (Challenge Group) are required to complete an over 10-km mountaineering running or a half marathon in the past 2 years (online results are also available), with online results submitted. Providing false certificates will be included in the list of prohibited entries. VII Entry Fee and Payment Method Mountaineering Group 1. The registration fee is free, but participants of 60-km Group (Elite Group) will be charged 498 yuan (those who sign up before Sep. 21 can enjoy the early bird price of 398 yuan per person) per person for the event organization and service; and participants of 30-km Group (Challenge Group) will be charged 298 yuan (those who sign up before Sep. 21 can enjoy the early bird price of 198 yuan per person) per person for the event organization and service. The charge covers the professional outdoor competition clothing, one ice towel, a medal for finishing the race, accident insurance for the day, supply point service, item storage, transshipment during the race, the concert and dinner on Sept. 27, the scenic spot ticket and the experience of cableway, rock drop, kayaking and simple-plank bridge. 2. Participants should pay their accommodation and prepare food for the day of the race by themselves. The organizing committee will unify the arrangement of vehicles on the day of the race. 3. Payment method: pay attention to and add the public address of czdx7096 and sign up online, and pay for Mountaineering Race in the Mount Feitianshan 2018. 5. Payment deadline: Within three working days of registration, the reviewer will receive a successful SMS message. The participants who pass the review must pay the fee within 48 hours after receiving the SMS. If the deadline is overdue, the entry quota will be automatically waived. 6. After the successful registration and payment, if you are unable to participate in the race, you must explain the reasons to the organizing committee by e-mail and provide relevant supporting documents. After verification and confirmation by the organizing committee, they shall be dealt with according to the regulations. If withdraw from the race 30 days before the competition (before Sept. 28, 2018), you can refund 50% of the return fee. If withdraw within 30 days before the competition, the registration fee will not be refunded. The quota will not be transferred.
