Trail sui Sentieri dei Santi 2022

Natura e spiritualità sono intimamente intrecciati. Si partirà dalle rive del fiume Aniene e si farà un anello attraversando il ponte medioevale di San Francesco e toccando luoghi di particolare interesse: ma non mancheranno le salite e le discese impegnative nei circa13 km e 800 metri di dislivello positivo. Si passerà all'interno dei chiostri del monastero di Santa Scolastica (piccolo tratto rigorosamente a passo) dove nel 1465 venne stampato il primo libro a caratteri mobili in Italia. E poi un passaggio assolutamente unico e spettacolare sarà al Sacro Speco, “limen paradisi” lo definì il Petrarca, “la soglia del Paradiso”; San Benedetto, Patrono d’Europa, ci visse da eremita. Quindi si prosegue in salita fino all'eremo di San Biagio e verso Monte Taleo. Dopo il passaggio a San Donato giù per la discesa per gli ultimi chilometri finali con il suggestivo arrivo del Ponte di Sant'Antonio. Il Trail “Sui sentieri dei Santi” aspetta solo voi!

Nature and spirituality are intimately intertwined. We will start from the banks of the Aniene river and make a ring crossing the medieval bridge of San Francesco and touching places of particular interest: but there will be challenging climbs and descents in the approximately 13 km and 800 meters of positive difference in altitude. We will pass inside the cloisters of the monastery of Santa Scolastica (a small stretch rigorously in steps) where in 1465 the first book with movable type in Italy was printed. And then an absolutely unique and spectacular passage will be at the Sacro Speco, "limen paradisi" as defined by Petrarch, "the threshold of Paradise"; St. Benedict, Patron of Europe, lived there as a hermit. Then continue uphill to the hermitage of San Biagio and towards Monte Taleo. After the passage in San Donato downhill for the last final kilometers with the evocative arrival of the Sant'Antonio bridge. The Trail "On the paths of the Saints" is just waiting for you!
