The Derrybawn Ridge is known as one of the most runnable and scenic routes in the Wicklow National Park featuring 7 small peaks with the highest at 492 metres elevation. On your way to the Ridge you will run past the Woollen Mills up the ‘Zig-Zag’ trail in Derrybawn Wood before joining with the Wicklow Way for several kilometres. Your journey on trail and fire-road ends as you break out through forestry to open mountain and onto the ridge itself. A short descent brings you back into the trails of Derrybawn Wood before you rejoin the shorter course and the fast descent to the finish line at Laragh GAA. Here you will run an 800m ‘lap of honour’ before crossing the line and celebrating your completion with a ‘local spread’.
