Rock Solid Kastellorizo 2024

Υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής Ολυμπιακής Επιτροπής και σε συνδιοργάνωση του Δήμου Μεγίστης – Καστελλορίζου πραγματοποιείται για δεύτερη χρονιά ο αγώνας ορεινού τρεξίματος Rock Solid Kastellorizo 22K στο Καστελλόριζο. Ένας αγώνας 22χλμ και +1.006μ υψομετρικής, με εκκίνηση – τερματισμό στο Λιμάνι μπροστά από το «Ηρώο» που θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 1 Ιουνίου 2024 στις 07:30. Ο αγώνας ξεκινάει από το λιμάνι και περνάει μέσα από τον ορεινό όγκο του νησιού, την περιοχή Μούντα, ακολουθώντας ένα δίκτυο φυσικών μονοπατιών αλλά και ασφαλτοστρωμένου δρόμου. Μία διαδρομή εξαιρετικής ομορφιάς, μέσα από πλούσια βλάστηση, οδηγεί στο βόρειο τμήμα του νησιού, στο οποίο προβάλλει η μοναδική θέα της νήσου Ρω. Στη συνέχεια η διαδρομή φτάνει έως τα 400 σκαλοπάτια και στη συνέχεια ακολουθεί η διαδρομή των 5 χλμ.. Η εκκίνηση και ο τερματισμός του αγώνα θα γίνει στο Λιμάνι μπροστά από το «Ηρώο». Οι δρομείς θα κινηθούν στα μονοπάτια της ευρύτερης περιοχής του Καστελλορίζου και στη συνέχεια θα τερματίσουν επίσης στο Λιμάνι μπροστά από το «Ηρώο». Ο αγώνας δεν έχει αγωνιστικό χαρακτήρα και η συμμετοχή είναι δωρεάν. Ωστόσο, θα υπάρξει επίσημη ηλεκτρονική χρονομέτρηση, ώστε όλοι οι δρομείς να γνωρίζουν τις επιδόσεις τους. Σκοπός της διοργάνωσης είναι η ανάδειξη του φυσικού πλούτου της ευρύτερης περιοχής και η ευαισθητοποίηση των κατοίκων της γύρω περιοχής για την ιστορική και πολιτιστική κληρονομιά του Καστελλορίζου. Παράλληλα, οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν τα μονοπάτια του Καστελλορίζου και να δουν πολλά σημεία αναφοράς της ευρύτερης περιοχής.

Under the auspices of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and in collaboration with the Municipality of Megisti – Kastellorizo, the mountain running race "Rock Solid Kastellorizo 22K" is taking place for the second year on the island of Kastellorizo. This is a 22km race with an elevation gain of +1,006m, starting and finishing at the port in front of the "Hero" monument, scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 07:30. The race begins at the port and traverses the mountainous terrain of the island, passing through the area of Mounda, following a network of natural trails as well as paved roads. It's a route of exceptional beauty, through lush vegetation, leading to the northern part of the island, where the unique view of the island of Ro unfolds. The route then reaches the 400 steps and continues with the 5km route. The start and finish of the race will be at the port in front of the "Hero" monument. Runners will move through the trails of the wider area of Kastellorizo and will also finish at the port in front of the "Hero" monument. The race is not competitive, and participation is free. However, there will be official electronic timing so that all runners can track their performance. The purpose of the event is to highlight the natural wealth of the wider area and to raise awareness among the residents of the surrounding area about the historical and cultural heritage of Kastellorizo. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the trails of Kastellorizo and see many landmarks of the wider area.
