六峰指的是北京近郊六座超1000米山峰：高家山1042、张家山1178、孙家山1116、妙峰山1291、阳台山1278、萝芭地北尖1137。六峰连穿是从河南台出发，穿过包括上述六峰在内的28个山峰抵达终点大觉寺，单程32公里，爬升2525米。因部分线路处于山脊，几乎全程无补给，使得完成难度翻倍，故必须有专人设置补给站，六峰折返才可能完成
