LUT (Lviv Ultra-Trail®) is Ukraine’s finest, longest, and most challenging city trail event in the trail ultra XL format. This inspiring trail race starts on the cobblestones right in the heart of the Ensemble of the Historic Centre (listed in UNESCO World Heritage List) but quickly makes its way into trail running heaven in the surrounding foothills. Along the way, there is over 3755 meters of total vertical gain to be accomplished – this is more than many mountain ultras of similar distance have! The trail, created by veteran trail runners, is diverse underfoot with plenty of varied technical sections specifically chosen for interest and variety. As you proceed from checkpoint to checkpoint you’ll both be never too far from civilization and yet also in a completely different world of nature, hidden spots of natural beauty and historic interest, and more. With a generous time limit, some participants may find themselves running into the night.
