Welcome to Ohrid Ultra-Trail® and Lake Ohrid region - UNESCO World Nature and Cultural Heritage Ohrid Ultra-Trail® is an international trail running event taking place annually in the Galicica National Park and Prespa-Ohrid region, N.Macedonia. The third edition is scheduled on September 17-19, 2021.
Samotska Trail Marathon brings its participatns to the middle of Galicica mountain range. The first part of the trail winds its way up from fishing village Peshtani via village Elshani to the main ridgeline and the peak of Bugarska Chuka / Chumo Vlaga. Once reached, the spectacular scenery along the route definitely compensate for all the effort and remains long in the memory - captivating landscapes of both Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid, an UNESCO heritage region. The route follows the main ridgeline taking on trails and dirt roads in the heart of Galicica National Park all the way to the finish line down by Ohrid town square.
Born in July 2013, the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) aims to give a voice to parties involved in trail running in order to promote its strong values, its diversity, the safety of races and the health of runners, as well as to further the development of trail running and ensure a constructive dialogue between the national and international bodies with an interest in the sport.
