About the Race

The completion of P2P Ultra 2015 marks a successful 3rd Edition. For this year's challenge, the focus is on Team effort (Team of 3) and the distance to be covered is 118km with an elevation gain of +/-3300m. Cut-off is set at 28hrs, i.e. @1045hrs on 13 Dec 2015. The final team, Team TEF with 3 members intact, returning at 0958hrs on 13 Dec 2015. The varied weather conditions during the run made the journey extremely challenging. Heat in the better part of the day and Rain followed in the late afternoon. We were fortunate that "Ex Road Block" need not be activated and teams were allowed to complete all of BTH Loops. "Mud and Water Fest" along GC were next on the cards. This cocktail mix proved to be lethal, supplying the much dreaded raw recipe for ???Q? aka Crystal Juicy Blisters. The enjoyment of this dish was so "well-received" by most, that it left a bad after taste. In the end, as per published results, 6 Teams managed to complete this run within the cut-off timing. 4 teams (ranked in the following fore front order) - Team SRX, Team Nua Runners, Team runforfunrunforfund and Team TEF completed with all 3 members. Even though unrecorded in the P2P Ultra 2015 Rules & Regulations, the Organizing Committee has made the final decision to present the above-mentioned teams their correct and due recognition for staying intact (3 members) from Start to Finish. By no means a slighter feat, Team Ultra and Team Ultra Slow (ranked 5th and 6th respectively) completed the run with the minimum 2 members. It was battle to the line as Team Ultra Slow was chasing down Team Ultra along the final stretch of GC. In the end, Team Ultra rallied on and won the battle of the 2-member teams with a gap of about 25 minutes. Even though both 2-member teams recorded a faster timing than the 3-member teams ranked above them, the Organizing Committee would like to reiterate the explanation given earlier and the results shall be as such. Last but not least, the Organizing Committee would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to LAY YONG, ALEX KOH, ALVIN PNG and ZEN for stepping forward to provide their support. They have been instrumental in making this run a successful one. Hope to be able to organize a 4th Edition in 2016...
