El Reto del Indio is a 100 Mile Ocean to Ocean Ultra Trail Run in Panama that starts in the shores of the Atlantic Ocean (Colon Province) and ends on the beaches of the Pacific Ocean (Cocle Province), at Playa Blanca, crossing part of the rainforest that protect the Panama Canal and going up the 3,000 foot high mountains of the Valley of Anton. El Reto del Indio 105kms comienza en Capira, Panamá, subiendo la División Continental paralelo al Rio Indio hasta llegar a El Valle de Anton donde después se comienza a bajar hacia el Hotel Decamerón en Playa Blanca, en el Océano Pacífico, donde termina la carrera.
El Reto del Indio 105kms starts in Capira, Panamá, going up the Continental divide, parallel to the Indio River all the way up to El Valle de Anton, and then going down to the Pacific Ocean where the race ends in Playa Blanca´s Decameron Hotel.
Born in July 2013, the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) aims to give a voice to parties involved in trail running in order to promote its strong values, its diversity, the safety of races and the health of runners, as well as to further the development of trail running and ensure a constructive dialogue between the national and international bodies with an interest in the sport.
