About the Race

One of our most popular events on the trail running calendar returns to Lulworth Cove in Dorset but with a difference. This year the event will run on both Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October 2021 with the Saturday event ran in reverse. Lulworth Cove is one of the most beautiful and recognisable stretches of coastline in the country situated right on the South West Coast Path, starting at Durdle Door. It is a spectacular place to begin the trail running challenge but don’t be fooled by the vistas, those climbs aren’t for the fain hearted. We have four distances on offer, Ultra Marathon, Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k. All four distances will take on this stretch of coastline, almost all the way to Weymouth – the 10K runners will turn off half-way along and climb away from the coast to find the lower coastal path before heading back to Lulworth and the finish. Continuing on to Osminton Mills the Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra runners leave the coast path before joining the lower path before heading back to Lulworth Cove, enjoying the views from a different direction and a slightly higher view point. The Half Marathon finishes back at Lulworth Cove whereas the Marathon and Ultra Marathon continues past Lulworth Cove to begin the second leg of the challenge, heading in the other direction along the coast path towards St Alban’s Head and Poole. Here they will follow the coast path through M.O.D land, this is a particularly tough section. The Marathon and Ultra turn off the coast path at different times before looping back to Lulworth Cove to the finish line. This is a stunning venue for a trail running challenge and we advise you to take a camera for the challenge and enjoy the view as you run. Canicross friendly.
