The short distance category is a mid-level race with moderate difficulty designed for those who may either already have climbing running endurance or experience in hiking. It is also accommodating for beginners, who are willing to rack up vertical kms going into the race. The 12km course starts with a brief road climb warm-up and immediately enters the single tracks of Dam-an going to Mambao dirt road. It then goes all the way down to one of Mananga River's tributaries, and climbs up the soft-gradient endurance climb to Cabatbatan community. Fuel up in Cabatbatan Aid Station (courtesy of our Chorizo Cowboy Titos) as the next section is a steep climb to the hills separating Pamutan and Buot-Taup. Here the flattish section connects to the 6Km course in Kandingan Aid Station.
