Phoenix Trail “Beitou” has a long history, abandoned mine pits and unique mountain forest plants, topography and landforms in Taiwan. Wujian Mountain, connected by peaks and peaks, is located in the Beitou District adjacent to Taipei City. It covers Warship Rock, Danfeng Mountain, Qilian Mountain, Beitou Mountain, Shitan Mountain, Sulfur Creek Mountain, Peak 260, and Wujian Mountain. Sulfur Creek Mountain is 280 meters elevation. The original third-class triangle point No. 1018 has been lost. There is also Geological Survey No. 14 base point. The "Wujilian Mountain" marked on the fourth edition of the map is the previous name of Sulfur Creek Mountain. The south peak of Sulfur Creek Mountain, 150 meters elevation, is opposite to a temple (Venue) hidden beside the abandoned house in dense woods. 260 Peak, 260 meters elevation, on the ridgeline, you can overlook the ridgeline of Danfeng Mountain and the Xinbeitou community in the valley. The fresher landscape is the mountain ridge on the northeast side, the Shanzihou ridge in the distance, and Culture University like castle in the cloud, and the foreground on the nearby hill is the edge of Danfeng Mountain, overlooking the Zhongzheng Mountain and Datun peaks in the north. Shitan Mountain, also known as Xinbeitou Mountain, is 243 meters elevation. It is different from other mountains. It is surrounded by lush coniferous pine-leaf forests and overlooks Xinbeitou and the Guandu basin. Batou Mountain, 210 meters elevation, has no official mountain name, and unknown hiker set a monument here. Qilian Mountain, 165 meters elevation, is located in the southwest branch of Wujianlian Peak. Because of the benefit of sandstone geology, this area contains stone materials. During the Qing Dynasty, it was popular for mining and used for various constructions. Therefore, the quarrying industry flourished. Warship Rock, about 186 meters elevation, the protruding huge rock stands among the mountains. At first glance, it looks like a warship from a distance, so it is named. It provides the best view of Guanyin Mountain, Danshui, Guandu basin, and the North Datun Mountains. Phoenix trail course containing variety of terrains is a technical cross-country of medium/high difficulty. The elite group route covers eight mountains in the low-altitude mountainous area near Taipei with a total elevation climb over one thousand meters. The challenge group route covers five mountains, suitable for beginning-level mountaineering runners to challenge your limits.
