Volcán Tunupa. Estratovolcán boliviano ubicado al sur del departamento de Oruro, en el municipio de Salinas de García Mendoza, limitando con el Salar de Uyuni. Presenta una altura de 5.432 msnm Este estratovolcán se constituye en la principal puerta de ingreso al Salar de Uyuni (Potosí). Se encuentra rodeado por serranías que poseen hermosos e imponentes cactus. Según estudios geológicos, su profundidad máxima es de cuatro a cinco metros, la costra de sal que posee es similar a la de Uyuni. Es una plataforma blanquecina incomparable. Se caracteriza por la explotación e industrialización de los yacimientos de sal. Forma parte de la ruta Turística Intersalar. Sus alrededores albergan flamencos, avestruces, zorros y flora que pueden sobrevivir en este raro y único ecosistema.
