Lanzarse a la carrera que inicia en la sierra Zongolica, último reducto de los NONOALCAS y que pasa por donde QUETZALCOATL (Señor de la vida, de la luz y tatiaxca del conocimiento, señor del día y de los vientos y regidor del oeste) habitó y murió, el PICO DE ORIZABA o CITLALTEPETL, es épico. Estos dos importantes sitios forman parte de la Ruta del SKY ULTRA PICO MX. Inicia en la Sierra de Zongolica, tierra del jaguar (tlatlauhquiocélotl) llega al punto más alto en el Pico de Orizaba, hábitat del gato montés (kuawmistli) y termina en Orizaba. Una aventura extraordinaria que permitirá a los trail runners atravesar la selva y la montaña. Es ante todo vivir una aventura interior, una experiencia única en la que cada participante deberá esforzarse y superar sus límites mentales y físicos para cruzar la META. La ruta discurre por caminos, sendas, veredas y brechas con cualquier cantidad de matices, paisajes, miradores, poblados y encantos naturales y arquitectónicos. La línea de SALIDA estará ubicada en Zongolica a 1,216 msnm, pasando por Tequila, Magdalena, Tonalixco, Omiquila, San Juan del Rio (Rafael Delgado), Orizaba, Ixhuatlancillo, Mariano Escobedo, La Perla; San José Pilancón, la Cueva de la China, el Parque Nacional Pico de Orizaba (3,852 msnm), Villas Pico de Orizaba, para finalizar en Plaza Bicentenario de Orizaba (1,236 msnm). La segunda mitad nos lleva al Parque Nacional Pico de Orizaba, desde Orizaba por la ribera del río de mismo nombre, por la ruta que siguió el capitán Raynolds hace 171 años, para hacer cima el 10 de mayo de 1848, tocando el punto más alto el SKY ULTRA PICO MX 160K a los 3,865 msnm para finalmente llegar a la META situada en Orizaba a 1,236 msnm.
