TRAIL GRIGNE SUD Sui sentieri dei camosci www.trailgrignesud.it www.facebook.com/trailgrignesud mail: info@trailgrignesud.it Il Trail delle Grigne Sud, quest’anno alla sua quarta edizione, porterà i runners alla scoperta della maestosità del versante meridionale delle Grigne. La gara si compone di due percorsi, che disegnano un arco dal centro di Mandello del Lario (Lecco) e dalle acque del lago ai picchi all'ombra delle pareti del Sasso Cavallo. Un itinerario tanto impegnativo quanto suggestivo da affrontare con le gambe e con la testa per godere dei molteplici scorci sul lago e correre sui sentieri dove abitano i camosci. Il percorso lungo, chiamato TGS EXTREME è di 42 kilometri con 3.810 metri di dislivello positivo. A una prima occhiata sulla carta, i 42 chilometri del TGS Extreme, la gara regina, potrebbero essere sottovalutati, sollecitando l’idea di un percorso abbastanza veloce. I 3.800 metri di dislivello positivo, però, fanno la differenza e collocano la gara tra i percorsi in puro spirito trail alpino: ore e ore sulle gambe su e giù tra i monti. L’allenamento non basta, fondamentale è saper gestire le proprie risorse per tutta la lunghezza della gara. Il percorso nel dettaglio. Il TGS EXTREME si snoda quasi interamente su sentieri di montagna. Dopo aver lasciato il centro storico di Mandello del Lario (200 m) e aver proseguito verso la frazione di Somana, il percorso si arrampica subito nel bosco per la prima importante salita fino allo Zucco Sileggio (1348 m). Da qui, un po' scendendo, ma soprattutto ancora salendo, si prosegue fino a raggiungere la cima del Monte Pilastro, e la quota massima del percorso (1794 m), e si scende alla Bocchetta di Prada. Un traverso in costa, tutto da correre, porta al rifugio Bietti-Buzzi (1704 m). Da qui, una discesa nel bosco di faggi conduce dritti all'Alpe Calivazzo, quindi a Era Bassa (835 m), dov'è situato il primo cancello orario a 5 ore dalla partenza. Incomincia la seconda salita che, progressivamente, porta al Rifugio Elisa (1485 m). Si scende fino in Gardata (1020 m) e si traversa per raggiungere la località di Versarico (720 m), dov'è fissato il secondo cancello orario a 8 e un quarto. Qui inizia la salita verso l'ultima vetta: lo Zucco di Manavello (1025 m). La discesa finale, ripida nella prima parte e più corribile dopo, chiude l'arco fino a Mandello del Lario. Tempo massimo: 11 ore. Vengono premiati i primi 5 concorrenti delle due gare nelle classifica femminile e maschile. Vengono inoltre premiati i primi di categoria di entrambe le gare. La quarta Edizione si terrà sabato 26 settembre 2020, con partenza da Piazza Garibaldi, Mandello del Lario (LC), e arrivo nello stesso luogo, in riva al lago, Il numero massimo di partecipanti è fissato a 150 per il TGS Extreme.

TRAIL GRIGNE SUD - TGS EXTREME On the tracks of the chamois www.trailgrignesud.it www.facebook.com/trailgrignesud mail: info@trailgrignesud.it This forth Edition of the Trail Grigne Sud will take runners to discover the majesty of the southern side of the Grigne mountains. The race itself is made of two courses, both starting and finishing in the village of Mandello del Lario, spanning from the lakeside to the above peaks in the shade of Sasso Cavallo wall. An itinerary which is almost as challenging as it is mesmerising, to be dealt with both legs and mind, enjoying the many glimpses of the lake, while running on the tracks where the chamois live. The longer course, called TGS EXTREME, is 42 kilometers in length, with a total elevation gain of 3.800 meters. At first glance on the map, the 42 kilometers-long TGS EXTREME may be underestimated, giving the false impression of being “quite” a short and easy course. But what really makes the difference is the 3.800 meters total elevation gain, putting this race among those characterized by pure alpine trail spirit: many hours on your legs, up and down the mountains. Training is not enough, being essential to be able to manage your energies for the whole length of the race. The course in details The TGS EXTREME runs almost entirely on mountain tracks. After leaving the center of Mandello del Lario (200 m) and reaching the village of Somana, the path rapidly starts to climb in the woods for the first important ascent towards Zucco Sileggio (1348 m). From there, going down a bit and up again, it reaches the summit of Monte Pilastro and the maximum altitude of the course (1794 m), descending then to Bocchetta di Prada. A fast transverse ridge takes the runners to the Rifugio Bietti-Buzzi (1704 m). From there, the path descends between the beech trees to Alpe Calivazzo, then to Era Bassa (835 m), where the first time gate is located, five hours after the start. Thereafter, the second ascent starts and gradually reaches the Rifugio Elisa (1485 m). Down again to Gardata (1020 m – 29 km), then to Versarico (720 m), where the second time gate is located, eight hours and a quarter after the start. At this point, the last ascent starts towards the last summit: the Zucco di Manavello (1025 m). The final descent, steep in the first portion and more suitable for running in the second one, closes the circle in Mandello del Lario. Maximum time: 11 hours. Prizes were awarded to the first 5 runners in two different classifications for men and women. The forth Edition will take place on Saturday the 26th of September, 2020, starting from Piazza Garibaldi, Mandello del Lario (LC), and arriving at the same place, close to the lake border. The maximum number of participants is set at 150 for TGS Extreme course.
