About the Race

The VALLEY OF GOLD 100 MILES is the first 100 miles mountain run in the island of Mindanao connecting two provinces of Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro. This is a sea to summit experience for the runners, with the lowest point being 8 meters above sea level and the highest point being 1500 meters above sea level. The nickname affectionately given, Valley of Gold, invokes the stunning untouched natural beauty for which it is renowned, of course, but also alludes to the abundance of gold in the area. The palm-lined beaches of Davao Oriental and the richness of lush greenery in Davao de Oro you’ll find a mountainous landscape dominated by coconuts and banana plantations, as well as diverse flora and fauna.
